Hi, I'm Bouncy!
I’m a lovable service dog who helps young learners succeed academically, behaviorally and socially. Learn more about my comprehensive program, Bouncy’s Ready to Learn Resilience program.
More than a character: A comprehensive program
The anchor of the program is Breathing Bouncy, an animatronic service dog. Bouncy acts as a teacher’s assistant, guiding students through self-regulation exercises to help them transition from a stressed state to a state of security and readiness to learn. The program also includes digital and physical instructional elements. Music videos, story books (print and digital), games, apps, and activities can be utilized as a structured curriculum and integrated into a range of subject areas, or as a behavioral intervention.

Bouncy Delivers!
Bouncy is proven to help children succeed in school and life by teaching them to develop positive strategies to stay strong and calm when faced with big feelings, stressors and challenges.
Dig deeper! How does Bouncy support learners, educators, and schoolwide systems?
Bouncy’s Ready to Learn Resilience program, designed for PreK/TK through Grade 1, is part of the Ripple Effects Integrated System (REIS)—a flexible system designed to support youth learning and well-being, educator capacity, and classroom and schoolwide systems of support. REIS brings together three integrated components: evidence-based youth programs, planning and progress monitoring tools, and customizable implementation services. Together, these elements help schools and centers effectively address the behavioral, social, emotional, and mental health needs of young learners while reinforcing academic engagement and success.

Planning & Progress Monitoring Tools
As part of the REIS, educators implementing Bouncy also have access to two Planning & Progress Monitoring Tools, detailed Implementer’s Manuals, and a library of on-demand training videos. These supports make it easier to plan, deliver, and sustain the program with confidence and fidelity.

Building the Skills Young Learners Need to Succeed
Through direct instruction and coaching, structured play, storytelling, imaginative activities, and skill-building exercises like “Bouncy Breathing,” the program teaches children how to manage big feelings, navigate social challenges, and persevere in learning activities.
Studies have shown significant improvements in self-regulation, classroom engagement, and behavior—especially among high-needs early learners—resulting in fewer disruptive events, increased use of self-regulation strategies and positive learning mindsets, and more time spent engaged in learning.

-
Expanding Educator Capacity and Instructional Expertise
Described by multiple teachers as “like having a teaching assistant,” Bouncy supports increased educator self-efficacy in addressing behavior and emotional needs, reduces stress, and strengthens the ability to create safe, supportive learning environments.
The Bouncy program's ability to embed easily into daily routines, create shared language with other staff and families, and offer consistent practice with self-regulation strategies like “Bouncy Breathing” makes it effective at the individual, small group, or classroom-wide level.
By equipping educators with practical tools and just-in-time support, Bouncy helps keep students in the classroom, engaged in learning, and supported in ways that align with broader inclusion efforts.
-
Strengthening Schoolwide Systems for Early Learning Success
Designed to align with MTSS and PBIS frameworks, as well as Head Start, state, and early childhood development standards, Bouncy offers scalable, sustainable support for early learners across PreK, TK, Kindergarten, and first grade classrooms. Its consistent language and embedded practices promote coherence across classrooms and sites—strengthening inclusion efforts, increasing instructional time, and contributing to a safe, supportive school climate where all learners can thrive.
Bouncy supports schools in creating structured, nurturing learning environments where young learners feel safe and build the foundational skills needed for learning and relationships. The program integrates easily into existing instructional practices—including morning meetings, circle time, and targeted instruction periods—to reinforce schoolwide behavioral expectations and support less experienced staff in teaching and modeling these essential skills. Bouncy also serves as a “just-in-time” emotional support, expanding the capacity of classroom teachers to assist children when they are feeling stressed or dysregulated.
